InDEED – conception, implementation and evaluation of a blockchain-based energy economy data platform for ‘labelling’ and ‘asset logging’ (Verbundvorhaben: InDEED – Konzeption, Umsetzung und Evaluation einer auf Blockchain basierenden energiewirtschaftlichen Datenplattform für die Anwendungsfälle ‘Labeling’ und ‘Asset Logging’)

The aim of the research project InDEED (“Infrastructure for Decentralised Energy Data”) is to answer overarching questions in the context of the digitalisation of the energy transition, the application of new technologies (blockchain) and the change in actor relationships and roles through platform-based digital processes. The two most promising fields of application for blockchains in the energy industry from the consortium’s point of view are to be practically implemented and assessed, and the advantages and disadvantages evaluated. These are the ‘labelling of energy flows’ and ‘asset logging’. In this respect, power plants and end consumers are to be connected to a platform to be developed in the field in cooperation with the project partners and the results are to be evaluated in further scientific studies. The Stiftung Umweltenergierecht provides legal support for the project by developing a status quo analysis and drawing up a roadmap for the further development of identified regulatory obstacles and the development of proposals for action.
