Land analysis of onshore wind energy II – land availability and needs for the expansion of onshore wind energy (Flächenanalyse Windenergie an Land II – Flächenverfügbarkeit und Flächenbedarfe für den Ausbau der Windenergie an Land)
The objective of the project is to quantify the area required for the development of onshore wind energy. It includes comparing the available terrain, performance and yield potential with the electricity quantities and generation capacities required for onshore wind energy in the relevant target years. With its expertise, the Stiftung Umweltenergierecht analyses regulations with an impact on the land use planning and ensuring that the recommendations for action can be legally implemented. One focus of the legal work will be on the minimum distance regulations between wind energy sites and residential areas, which are expected to be implemented in certain countries over the project duration and will thus have a strong impact on the available sites for new projects
