EnEFF: heating: FW-Digital – digitalisation of technique and business processes in heating supply systems
Digitalisation in the energy industry and heat supply can improve the overall efficiency of the system as well as facilitate the integration of renewable sources. In a comparison of different energy sectors, digitalisation processes are currently more advanced in electricity than in heat supply. The project aims to structure the heat supply processes, which are divided into technical, business and legal framework processes, and to investigate and evaluate different digitalisation measures. In order to increase efficiency, consumption and producer data collected in real-time, if possible, as well as personal or customised-related data such as comfort requirements or willingness to pay are required. These data requirements are subject to both the European General Data Protection Regulation and the Federal Data Protection Act. An integral component of the project lies in the examination of the handling of personal data from a jurisprudential perspective and thus develops proposals as to what extent the technical and commercial process requirements can already be implemented under the current regulatory framework.
